Core Programs
Our work is organized into three core programs — Civic Engagement, Healing Justice, and Membership & Leadership Development. Here's what each one offers.
Civic Engagement
We register young voters, organize on high school and college campuses, and turn out our community for the issues that shape our lives — building people power and winning campaigns for a healthier, safer, more just Central Valley.
Healing Justice
Healing is part of the work. Through wellness spaces, cultural practice, and collective care, we make sure our young people and leaders can sustain their power for the long haul.
Membership & Leadership Development
This is where leaders grow. The LOUD Fellows and Interns program trains and funds young people of color to be the next generation of fearless organizers fighting for a healthy, safe, and thriving Central Valley.
Alongside our fellowships, members build their leadership through Power Hour, the Youth Organizing Institute, campus internships, and Liberation Academies — gaining the organizing and healing skills, relationships, and confidence to lead.
-
Our internships and ambassadorships are paid positions. You’ll work directly on our advocacy, healing justice, and civic engagement programs, alongside our organizers and on real campaigns.
HEAL(Heal Empower And Liberate) ambassadors lead LOUD’s youth harm reduction and healing justice work. You’ll learn how to support your peers, share harm reduction resources, and bring healing practices into organizing spaces, so our movement takes care of the people building it.
-
Paid opportunities that train young people of color in the fundamentals of issue and electoral campaigns: field organizing, narrative, and direct voter contact.
-
Every summer and fall, we host Liberation Academies: 3–4 day intensive trainings for new members. You’ll study political education, build organizing skills, and practice healing justice with other young people from across the Central Valley. You’ll leave knowing how power works and how to build it.
-
Once a month, LOUD members come together for political education and leadership development. We dig into the issues shaping our communities, sharpen organizing skills, and train members to lead campaigns, facilitate meetings, and mentor newer members. It’s how we keep growing together year-round, not just in the summer and fall.
